Captionit ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

2Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, and authentication data (via Google OAuth or email/password)
• Usage data: transcription minutes used, features accessed, subscription status
• Payment information: processed securely by Dodo Payments, Paddle, or Plisio according to the payment method — we never store card details or cryptocurrency wallet credentials
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and usage logs

3How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Service
• To manage subscriptions and billing through the applicable payment provider
• To send transactional emails (receipts, subscription updates, alerts)
• To analyze usage patterns and improve AI accuracy
• To comply with legal obligations

4Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL database hosted on secure cloud infrastructure). Audio files uploaded for transcription are processed and deleted after processing — we do not permanently store your audio or video files.

5Third-Party Sharing

We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the Service:

• Paddle: legacy card payment processing and tax compliance
• Dodo Payments: current card subscription and payment processing
• Plisio: optional cryptocurrency payment processing
• Google Cloud (Vertex AI, Gemini, TTS Chirp 3 HD): AI processing
• OpenAI (Whisper): audio transcription
• Supabase: database and authentication
• Mixpanel: optional pseudonymous product analytics hosted in the European Union
• Railway: backend hosting
• Cloudflare: frontend hosting and CDN

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

6Google OAuth

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google. This data is used solely for authentication. We comply with Google's Limited Use requirements.

7Cookies

We use essential browser storage for authentication and session management. Optional analytics storage is used only after consent. We do not use analytics for advertising. See our Cookie & Analytics Policy.

7AOptional Product Analytics

When you consent, Captionit may send pseudonymous product and reliability events to our EU Mixpanel project. These events use controlled fields and do not include email addresses, names, filenames, media, transcript or caption text, prompts, payment-card data, authentication secrets, checkout links, or raw error messages.

Limited Session Replay may be enabled only on approved public pages at a maximum 1% sample after a separate privacy gate. Text and inputs are masked; media, canvas, account, billing, support, transcript, and editor surfaces are blocked. Analytics and replay remain off when consent is denied, and denial does not disable Captionit features.

8Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your data

9Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your personal data is deleted within 30 days.

10Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email.
